Residential Trash Information

As of June 4, 2018, Waste Management holds the contract to collect trash, yard waste and recyclables from single family and two-family residences.

Unlimited bags or cans of household trash (each weighing under 60 pounds) will be collected from your front curbline. All collections will be made between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Please place all items for collection at the curb by 6:00 a.m. the day of pickup, but no earlier than 4:00 p.m. the day prior to pickup. After collection, all empty containers should be removed from the curb by 9:00 a.m. the following day.

Mobile Carts for Trash Collection

A 96-gallon mobile cart will be furnished to each residence at no additional charge. This cart may be used for trash collection only. If you would prefer a smaller 64-gallon cart or if you are unable to use a trash cart, please contact Waste Management at 800-964-8988. Additional carts are available at a rental cost of $9.00 per quarter per cart.

Bulky Trash Collection

All household furnishings, mattresses, sofas, chairs and other large items other than those listed under "Major Household Appliances" that can be easily and safely handled by two men, and do not exceed three cubic yards total volume will be picked up at no additional charge along with the regular trash collection. Please bag or wrap your mattress in plastic before placing it at the curb. 

Household remodeling debris, not exceeding two (2) standard trash containers per week (each weighing less than 60 pounds and not exceeding 45-gallon capability) are included in this service. Lumber and carpet should be no longer than 4' in length and bundled or placed in cans no heavier than 60 pounds. 

Bulky collections must be scheduled in advance by visiting Waste Management's website or calling their Customer Service number at 800-964-8988. 

Major Household Appliances

Large household appliances consisting of refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers and dryers, water heaters, trash compactors, dish washers, microwave ovens, ranges, stoves, wood stoves and air conditioners that can be easily and safely handled by two workers and do not exceed three cubic yards total volume. This collection must be scheduled in advance by contacting Waste Management at 800-964-8988.


Waste Management is no longer accepting tires as they are no longer allowed to be dumped into landfills. If you have a tire you'd like to dispose of, you can bring them to an area tire shop to have them recycled for a small fee. Dobb's Tire charges $4 per tire. 


Waste Management observes the following six holidays per year: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

If the holiday falls during the business week, and it is before your pickup day, your pickup schedule will fall one day later for that week. If the holiday falls after your pickup day, or on a Saturday or Sunday, your pickup schedule will not change.

A 10% Senior Citizen Discount is available for basic services collection and will be provided to residents in which the head of the household is 65 years or older and living at that address. Proof of age and residency is required.

Complete a discount form at the Customer Service Counter in City Hall or download one now.Forms must be returned with proof of age and residency(i.e. copy of your driver's license).
