Public Art
The city of Webster Groves prides itself on being a “City of the Arts,” with myriad opportunities to enjoy, engage in and explore a variety of creative expression. The city is home to several renowned theater companies, art galleries, music and dance businesses and organizations. Outdoor art and music festivals and concerts are signature events throughout the year.
In 2006, the City established the Webster Groves Arts Commission, which focuses on developing opportunities for citizens to engage in the arts, as well as recognizing those who encourage artistic expression and excellence within our community.
As part of this work, the Commission seeks out dynamic public art pieces to enhance our spaces and inspire our residents. A list of this public art is below, with information so that the public can have more opportunity to explore some of the artists, materials and motivations behind the pieces.
A special thank you to the Regional Arts Commission, Webster University and Laumeier Sculpture Park for assisting in the collection of this information.
