APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Ms. Bradley, seconded by Mr. Drissell, to approve the minutes of February 12, 2008, as corrected.

AYES: AHEARN, ALLEN, BAKKER, BRADLEY, DRISSELL, EVANS, MANN

NOES: NONE

ABSTAIN: NASH

ABSENT: SARGENT

The February 12, 2008 minutes were approved as corrected.

 

New Commission member Meg Nash was introduced.

 

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT IN THE ARTS RECEPTION

The Commission discussed plans for the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Awards Reception to be held March 14 at 5:30 p.m. 

 

Arts Center Task Force

Ms. Bradley and Mr. Drissell discussed the notes from the 2/13 Task Force meeting.

 

Mayor Welch stated that she is asking City Council about funding for a  preliminary study for an arts center. 

 

The Commission decided to table discussion on the arts center until the direction of the property is established. 

  

Funding Potential Task Force

The Task Force has not yet met, but will in the future. 

 

Framing for City Hall Art

The Committee met on 2/15 to gather information on the pieces that need re-framing.  The next step is to solicit bids. 

 

Other Issues

Ms. Evans asked about the status of the art at the Recreation Complex. 

 

Mayor Welch stated that she will talk with Recreation Staff on use of the funds.

There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
