PLAN FOR PUBLIC ART - OUTLINE

This topic was postponed until September.

YEAR OF THE ARTS

The Commission discussed events that could be either initiated by the Commission or integrated into the Year of the Arts. It was decided that it would be best to work with already established groups and events.  Commissioners are to bring contact ideas to the September meeting. A letter will be sent to groups such as churches, garden clubs and arts groups requesting their involvement.

The Arts Directory is currently under construction. It should be available for the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award reception in January.

REVIEW OF MEETING DATE AND QUORUM

The commission discussed potential new meeting dates and times, as reaching a quorum has become more difficult.

A motion was made by Ms. Bradley, seconded by Ms. Mann to move the meeting start time to 7:30 p.m.

AYES: AHEARN, ALLEN, BAKKER, BRADLEY, EVANS, MANN

NOES: NONE

ABSENT: DRISSELL, FERRIGNO, NASH

The Arts Commission will now meet at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 8:48 p.m.
