APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A
motion was made by Ms. Bradley, seconded by Mr. Ahearn to approve the minutes
of November 10, 2009.

LIFETIME
ACHIEVEMENT IN THE ARTS AWARD RECEPTION
The
Commission discussed details for the January 22, 2010 Lifetime Achievement in
the Arts Award Reception.
BUDGET
Commission
members discussed options for the $5,000 in the current budget that were
brought up at the November meeting. The Commission decided that additional
pieces at the Recreation Center would give the tricycle more impact. A
subcommittee will go to Brother Mel’s studio to see what is available in our
budget.
CROSSROADS
BUSINESS DISTRICT PUBLIC ART
The
next Crossroads Business District meeting is Tuesday, January 19. Available
members will attend this meeting and follow up with a visit to Brother Mel’s.
YEAR
OF THE ARTS
Ms. Conrad
told the Commission about Year of the Arts letter recipients and those who have
responded. Mr. Ahearn reported on discussions with Steve Clark Parade Chair,
regarding having the theme for this year’s Community Days Parade be something
to do with the arts. Commissioners should start submitting suggestions once
they are accepted. Members should also come to the February meeting with theme
ideas. Mr. Ahearn also showed examples of logos for Year of the Arts that he
has come up with.
OTHER
BUSINESS
The City is
entering the America in Bloom competition this year. Ms. Bradley will serve
represent the Commission.
The next
meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. to accommodate our speaker.

There being no further business to come before the
Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
