APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A
motion was made by Ms. Evans, seconded by Mr. Ahearn to approve the minutes of January
12, 2010.

were approved.
PRESENTATION
FROM TIMOTHY O’LEARY – OPERA THEATRE OF ST. LOUIS
Mr. O’Leary
gave the Commission a brief overview of the theatre’s operations and the
upcoming season. Mr. O’Leary and the Commission discussed ways to work
together.
LIFETIME
ACHIEVEMENT IN THE ARTS AWARD RECEPTION - REVIEW
The
Commission discussed what worked (art exhibit, stage seating, food) and what
didn’t (need more assistance from Commission members). Next month, Commission
members are to come with suggestions and supporting ideas for 2011.
BROTHER
MEL SCULPTURE - UPDATE
The City
has purchased two pieces. A subcommittee will look at placement of the pieces.
CROSSROADS
BUSINESS DISTRICT PUBLIC ART
Several
Commission members attended the last Crossroads meeting. Mayor Welch, Ms.
Bradley, and Ms. Evans will meet with Gary Passanise of Webster University regarding the possibility of getting one of his pieces for the area.
YEAR
OF THE ARTS
Ms. Conrad will
submit a piece for the next Community Connection in the Webster Kirkwood Times
requesting calendar events. Ms. Bakker, Ms. Evans, and Mr. Ahearn will help
contact groups regarding events.

Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
