ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

Jo Hart, with the Every Artist Market gave a brief presentation on the Every Artist Market, seeking input for support options.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Mr. Allen, seconded by Ms. Bradley, to approve the minutes of July 12, 2010, as corrected.

AYES: AHEARN, ALLEN, BAKKER, BRADLEY, DRISSELL, EVANS,  FERRIGNO, MANN

NOES: NONE

ABSENT: GREAVES

The July 12, 2010 minutes were approved as corrected.

 

PUBLIC ART PLAN - PRESENTATION

The Commission discussed the presentation of the public art plan at the September 7 City Council meeting.  Mr. Drissell and Mr. Allen will give the presentation.  Other Commission members will try to attend.

 

The Commission would like to look at the list of artists at a future meeting. The Commission would also like to work on a brochure that is a condensed version of the Art Plan in the future.

 

BROTHER MEL DEDICATION

The Commission discussed potential dates for the dedication.  It was decided that we would look at October 2 or 9 and see what works for Brother Mel.  Commission members will look into options for plaque designs.     

 

CREATIVE COMMUNITY APPLICATION

The Commission discussed the Creative Community Application.  Applications are due September 3.

 

MISCELLANEOUS UPDATES

Mayor Welch discussed the recent meetings of the Holiday Committee and the number of holiday events there are in the City.

 

The Commission will bring nominees for the 2011 Lifetime Achievement award to an upcoming meeting.
