APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A
motion was made by Ms. Bradley, seconded by Mr. Ahearn, to approve the minutes
of August 16, 2010.

The August 16, 2010 minutes
were approved.
PUBLIC
ART PLAN – PRESENTATION - REVIEW
The
Commission discussed the presentation of the public art plan that occurred
before the City Council. Mr. Drissell and Mr. Allen gave the presentation.
There was discussion over follow-up with Lutheran Senior Services, Webster Univ ersity, potential for a percent for art tax and the dissemination of the
brochures. Additional discussion on where/how many brochures to print will
take place at the October meeting.
BROTHER
MEL DEDICATION
The
Commission discussed potential dates for the dedication. It was decided that the
Commission will check on Brother Mel’s availability on October 21, which would
coincide with the beer and wine tasting in Old Orchard.
LIFETIME
ACHIEVEMENT IN THE ARTS AWARD NOMINATION
The
Commission discussed potential nominees and will pursue the possibility of
Jonathan Franzen.
MISCELLANEOUS
UPDATES
Mr. Ahearn
discussed the Caston Ballet Academie event – The Art of Ballet. The preview
will be October 15 with the opening on the 16th at the Old Orchard
Gallery.
Mr.
Drissell gave details on upcoming dates for the Awards of Excellence.
