CONTINUED PUBLIC ART DISCUSSION

Ms. Evans brought in a model of the bird sculpture from Catherine Magel.  The Commission discussed the model and established that they need to meet with Ms. Magel to talk to her about her rationale and give feedback on the model.  The Commission needs to love the model first before we can fundraise.

Mayor Welch stated that if we are doing fundraising, we should have other pieces and places in mind as well.

It was mentioned that Creve Coeur is getting pieces on loan from Laumeier Sculpture Park. Ms. Mann will contact the park to see how this is done.

MISCELLANEOUS UPDATES

The Foundation is currently planning an Arts Weekend, similar to the tour put on in the past by 63119.

Mr. Allen asked if the Commission was interested in doing another Webster Night at the Opera this year.  The Commission agreed that they are.  The 8 p.m. showing June 22 of Don Giovanni will be the Webster Night at the Opera event for this year.

The Missouri Chamber Music Festival, directed by Ms. Ferrigno and her husband is June 23, 24 and 25. More information can be found at mochambermusic.org.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
