CONTINUED PUBLIC ART DISCUSSION

The Commission discussed the model of the bird sculpture. The model is in important part of the process.  It is important to see what we are going to get. The Commission expressed interest in having Ms. Magel attend a special meeting to talk about the model.

Ms.  Mann brought up the possibility of getting a piece on loan from Laumeier Sculpture Park. She suggested that we reconvene this discussion when we have a budget.

Ms. Bradley mentioned the upcoming St. Louis Artist’s Guild show and whether we could have a display here.

Mayor Welch stated that the President of Webster University has been discussing the beautification of campus and has put together a public art task force.

Mayor Welch stated that if we are doing fundraising, we should have other pieces and places in mind as well.

MISCELLANEOUS UPDATES

The Commission will discuss a possible Community Days Parade entry at the next meeting.
