PRIORITY
PROJECTS
Commissioners
discussed artists assigned at the last meeting:
Bob
Cassilly – Few pieces that aren't sold or already distributed.
Evan
Lewis – Pieces don't seem to be more than $35,000. Most are on a commission
basis.
Robin
Murez - $10,000 - $60,000. Don't necessarily want to look at her mosaic
pieces, but explore her sidewalk art.
Carol
Fleming – Good for outdoor, specifically her functional pieces (benches and
lights).
The
Commission discussed working with St. Louis ArtWorks on bike racks or another
project. Ms. Evans and Ms. Cahoon will talk to them.
The
Commission discussed the possibility of pads for student work(University and/or
high school).
TROVA
AUCTION
Due
to legal questions, Laumeier Sculpture Park has cancelled their planned auction
of Trova pieces. The Commission discussed asking for a viewing of the pieces in
spite of the cancellation.
UPDATES
4th
of July – The floats were a success, in spite of the heat!
Night
at the Opera – 19 people purchase tickets. There were fewer at the dinner
beforehand. Future events at the Rep and Opera will be planned.
Chamber
Music Festival –Great shows, the event is too short! Good job Nina!
Art
on the Town – Event is October 13 (Lifetime Achievement is the 12th).
Ms. Cahoon is working with volunteers and activities and will have future
updates.
Farmers
Market – The Classical Closing is October 25, and will feature five trombones
from the St. Louis Symphony.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come
before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
