LIFETIME
ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Ms.
Bradley stated that Peter Sargent is available on October 10. Mayor Welch has
the bio from the Missouri Art Award to use. A subcommittee made up of Mayor
Welch, Ms. Bakker, and Ms. Bradley was assembled. They will look at speakers,
décor, and the menu.
TRAFFIC
SIGNAL/UTILITY BOX PAINTING
Mr.
Drissell brought in an article regarding the painting of traffic signal boxes
in Manchester. The Commission discussed the possibility of doing something
similar in Webster Groves. Discussion included the need for Council approval,
resident discussion if in yards, procedure, guidelines, how many, and a theme.
Ms. Bradley stated that the boxes are currently neutral, if they were painted,
they may stand out like a sore thumb. Ms. Mann stated that she would like to
see this planned out rather than a haphazard selection. Ms. Evans stated that
it may be hard to paint, there may be a lot of upkeep. Other commissioners were
unsure if we are ready to take something like this on. Mr. Drissell will do
some research into background and ideal spots.
