APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The June 12, 2007 minutes will be addressed at the August meeting, as there were not enough voting members in attendance. 

 

REVIEW OF JUNE 21, 2007 FORUM

The Commission agreed that the forum on June 21, 2007 was positive and encouraged discussion of the arts among attendees. Some ideas generated from the forum included an arts center, an outdoor venue for concerts or other performances, and additional locations for public art. 

 

The Commission discussed the possibility of participating in the Old Webster Jazz Festival in September, perhaps by setting up a sales or informational table. A subcommittee will get together in early August to discuss ideas. 

 

PLANNING FOR FALL COMMUNITY-WIDE FORUM

The Commission chose Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at City Hall for the community-wide forum. The forum will be open to the public. Discussion topics and other ideas for the forum were discussed. Commission members will bring ideas for the title of the forum to the next meeting (August 14, 2007).

There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 8:39 p.m.
