The Charter is essentially the constitution of the City of Webster Groves, and the Charter Review Advisory Board is currently seeking community opinions on whether any changes should be made, such as:
- Should the City change to a ward system or stay with an at-large election of Council members?
- Should the City adjust compensation for the Mayor & Council?
- How many signatures should be required for voters to propose or reject an ordinance?
These questions and more are included in the Charter Review Advisory Board online survey which is now available. You can access the survey here:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6J2ZSD7
The survey will be open through June 12.
As required by voters, the Charter Review Advisory Board began reviewing the City Charter in October 2022, and has since developed proposed recommendations to provide the City Council for consideration. In turn, the City Council will decide which recommendations, if any, will be placed on the April 2024 Municipal Election ballot.
Community feedback and suggestions play a critical role in shaping our City government. Please add your voice to the conversation!
