Cool Canines Dog Pool Party

The dog days of summer are coming to an end which means we're opening the pool for your 4-legged friends before closing for the season. Proof of current inoculations must be shown at the gate. Owners are responsible for the conduct and actions of their pets and will not be allowed to go underwater or swim in the lap pool with their dogs. The Recreation Department reserves the right to limit numbers.

The fun costs $10/dog with one adult human; $5 each additional human. (Sorry, no humans under age 13 are allowed in the water at all.) A portion of the proceeds benefits the Barkley House, a UMC extended-care facility for pets in need of long-term medical care and their owners.

Road Work Ahead

Road Work in Webster Groves

Due to a number of improvement projects, traffic may be slow and detours may be set up in certain parts of Webster Groves in the upcoming weeks.

Deer Creek: Starting on September 1, Ameren will be doing work near Deer Creek Park. They will be replacing existing poles that hold high voltage wires. First they will dig and install the new poles and string the new electrical wire and once the installation is complete they will remove the old wires and poles. They will begin on Dutton, moving to Marshall and then ending on Brentwood. The work is expected to be complete by February 15, 2022. During this time, portions of Marshall will be closed to traffic and detours will be set up.

Big Bend: Please be aware of construction work on Big Bend Blvd from Murdoch to Dale on the north side of the street beginning on Monday, August 23. This is a federal grant project to do a continuation of the Old Orchard streetscape that previously ended at Murdoch. The work will include improvements to sidewalks, increased ADA accessibility, and a continuation of the decorative streetlights that will hold banners, and hanging plants. Utilities in that area have been relocated and many utility poles have been eliminated. Missouri American Water moved water lines into the street ahead of this construction.

Work is expected to last for 6-8 weeks and the north side parking lane will be blocked during this time. Please continue to support your favorite Old Orchard Businesses located in this area during the work.

City Hall Closed on Labor Day
